Welcome members

The Media and Communication Studies Articulation Committee (MACSAC) was established in June 2002 "to articulate undergraduate curriculum concerning the history, production, and criticism of media, culture and technology." Our understanding of Media and Communication Studies includes the following: media analysis, media history, media and literary criticism, persuasion and rhetoric, advertising and public relations, cultural theory, political economy, the impact of technology on culture, media ecology, the Toronto School, journalism, cultural industries, digital culture, multimedia production, media law and ethics, cultural policy, telecommunications, research methods.

This website serves as a focal point for our articulation and transfer activities under BCCAT, providing news and a forum for discussion; it is also a repository for articles, links, news, course outlines, and any materials contributing to Media and Communications Studies. It is a resource for students with questions about media and communications programs and careers; for faculty and advisors seeking information about transfer and admissions; and for system administrators with an interest in the activities of MACSAC. Above all, MediaBC is a portal to a network of resources significant to the postsecondary study of media and communication, and to related career opportunities.

At the time of writing, representatives from the following postsecondary institutions participate in the activities of MACSAC: Blanche McDonald Centre, Columbia College, Coquitlam College, Malaspina University-College, North Island College, Royal Roads University, Selkirk College, Simon Fraser University, Trinity Western University, University-College of the Fraser Valley.
